Campaign teams today don’t just need boots on the ground — they need brains in the cloud.

Automations and digital tools have become essential in political marketing. From email drip campaigns to dynamic ad targeting and AI chatbots, the modern candidate must speak to thousands without sounding robotic.

Tip 1: Start with CRM Integration

If you’re still tracking voters in Excel, you’re losing time. A good CRM system like NationBuilder or Action Networkallows you to segment supporters, automate follow-ups, and personalize communication — all while staying GDPR-compliant.

Tip 2: Automate Email & SMS with Purpose

Don’t spam. Build journeys. A voter who signs up at your kiosk shouldn’t get the same message as someone who donated twice. Use tools like Mailchimp or Moosend (I personally prefer Apifon‘s Mooke for SMS and Viber messages and Mailchimp for email campaigns) to build personalized sequences. Think: welcome → update → call to action.

Tip 3: Invest in Ads — but Track Everything

Facebook, Instagram, YouTube — all work, but only if you measure. Set up UTM links, use Meta Ads Library for transparency, and connect analytics with voter segments. You’re not just buying clicks; you’re building influence.

Final Advice: Keep It Human

Automations don’t replace people. They free up time to talk to them. Use tech to amplify your message — not to replace your presence. Stay consistent, stay clear, and always stay human.

Extra Tip: Don’t Underestimate Local Press & Advertorials

While everyone’s chasing clicks and impressions online, don’t forget the power of local media — especially in regional or municipal elections. Collaborating with trusted local newspapers or portals through advertorials (sponsored articles) can boost your candidate’s credibility and reach audiences that aren’t easily targeted on social media. Just make sure the content adds value and doesn’t read like an ad.
